NDIS Respite Care and Short Term Accommodation (STA) Services

NDIS funding focuses on respite care and short term accommodation to relieve participants and their carers from the monotony of daily routine. NDIS recognises the importance of taking a break now and then to maintain the health of caregivers. Based on the eligibility, most NDIS plans will include funding for short term accommodation of 28 days/year and they can choose to use it in varying intervals.

Our NDIS clients can decide to spend these days over certain weekends or a 14-day break twice a year, whichever is convenient for them and their families. At Little Support Heroes we offer a wide range of NDIS support services including Respite to help our clients lead independent and fulfilling lives while achieving their individual goals.

What is Respite Care?

Respite care is a short-term and temporary helping service that you can take advantage of when you as a carer need some time off. The person who takes care of an individual with a disability on a daily basis also deserves time to rest. You can choose a friend, family member, a paid support worker, or a volunteer to take care of your loved ones at that time. Respite care services offer housing accommodation for varied time frames and also provide in-house help whenever our participants need it. They can stay there for a couple of hours, a day, over the weekend, or even as a short-term vacation. Respite services will let them step out of their usual routine and meet new people to engage in community activities.
